For the past 17 years I have been traveling around the country learning color techniques, hair styles and types of hair that have shaped my career. My point of view in hair comes from my own personal hair journey; I have spent a lifetime learning how to harness my large, unruly, and curly hair into something I feel good about wearing. This led me on my styling journey to perfect straightening my curly hair into something smooth and lasting, and after years of fighting it, how to make my curls be well formed and frizz free.
My career began in Seattle where I attended both the Gene Juarez Academy of Beauty and the Gene Juarez Advanced Academy for the Technical program. This was a school to further my education in the arts of color, foiling, balayage, ombre, and keratin restructuring, I then began my years of moving and working in many salons including Seattle, Atlanta, San Francisco, and now home in Santa Cruz. In each town I worked in I felt I learned color techniques and styles that were unique to each area.
I continue to pursue my education taking classes as frequently as I can to further my knowledge and to bring new techniques to my repertoire. I have recently received continued education from Bumble and Bumble, Siggars Balayage, Di Pietro Todd, Deva Curl, Coppola, Davines, Kevin Murphy, and the Energizing Color Summit.
When I’m not at the salon, you will find me guest blogging for the online fashion blog, The Penny Rose, as well as session styling for their online photo spreads. At night you can find me pursuing my love for music as part of the dj duo Digital Honey.
My goal is to fine tune your color, hair style, and texture to be a canvas for you to easily work with whether you are a frequent heat styler or simply a wash and wear. We can find a plan to boost your fine skinny hair, or tame your wild and big locks. I am happy to educate you through technique, services, and products how to make your hair one of your favorite accessories. My best days at the salon are when my clients leave feeling beautiful and renewed.
